Le Fevre High School are soccer CHAMPIONS!

On a wet, windy winters day Le Fevre High School Soccer Academy hosted the final of the Western Zone Soccer Competition against Henley High School at Port Pirates. Throughout the entire school term teams from Findon, Adelaide Secondary School of English, Seaton, Mt Carmel, Temple, Woodville and the two top of the table finalists Le Fevre and Henley have competed for this prestigious title.

The game kicked off at 3pm and within the first few minutes Henley scored from a corner. The boys however reacted well from the bad start and got level just before half time from a corner of our own Finn getting his head to the ball and placing it past the keeper. So the teams went in level at Half time 1 – 1.

After the half time interval a few changes were made to our starting team and we started to look a lot more comfortable in possession with Finn, Marco and Harry starting to dominate the midfield and we started to push Henley further back. It didn’t take long for Le Fevre to grab the lead with an absolute stunning strike from our Centre Back Cooper, a volley from 20 yards which nestled itself in to the top corner. This goal would not have been out of place in the English Premier League that’s how good of a goal we are talking about. After this we then scored a beautiful team goal some fantastic passing followed by a cross from Marco  which was met by Finn once again and he nodded the ball past the keeper. The win was wrapped up when Marco scoring a wonderful solo goal, dribbling past a few defenders before hitting the ball from long distance making the score Le Fevre 4 to Henley 1. Henley did score a late goal however but Le Fevre went on to win the championship the final scores being:

Le Fevre High School Soccer Academy – 4

Henley High School – 2

Credit to all the players who played throughout the term. As it was a final not everyone played however every player will be awarded a certificate at the assembly in Week 1 of Term 3. A fantastic start to the Le Fevre High School Soccer Academy as winning this in our first year is something special. We now look forward to the Year 10 Knockout Competition as it moved into the third round as our team are still in it as we knocked out Brighton High and Woodville respectively.

Go Le Fevre!!

Le Fevre High School Soccer Academy hosted Mount Carmel College knowing a win would cement a spot in the Western Zone Finals.  Defense again was our main focus throughout training this week and our pre game aim was to keep the opposition to 0 goals for the entire game (a clean sheet for those non soccer fans.)

We dominated and stamped our authority on the game from the opening whistle and we broke through from a corner our Centre Back Cooper scoring the vital first goal. Throughout the second half our midfields and forwards started to really gel and it was a fantastic team effort through the entire game. The final result was

Le Fevre High School Soccer Academy – 3

Mount Carmel College – 0

The objective of another clean sheet was achieved and the team played great soccer throughout the entire game linking up fantastically well. Stand out performers throughout the match were two of our defenders Cooper and Cian and a shout out to one of our goal scorers Amy who became the first girl to score in the Western Zone 11 a side competition. LFHS beat Woodville High 5 to 0

Le Fevre High School Soccer Academy travelled to Woodville High School where we were hopeful of continuing our unbeaten start to the Western Adelaide Zone Soccer competition. Although it was officially the first day of winter the game began in very pleasant conditions. Defense was our main focus throughout training this week and our pre game aim was to keep the opposition to 0 goals for the entire game (a clean sheet for those non soccer fans.)

We dominated and stamped our authority on the game from the opening whistle and we finally broke through with a fantastic solo goal from Marco. Jordan, Moein and Marco looked very dangerous throughout the opening half and between them they had 3 goals at half time while the opposition Woodville had 0. The second half was a little different as Woodville High played more defensive however we did manage to score two goals, a finely taken penalty by Nathan and a goal from a corner from Jordan. In the end the final scores were:

Le Fevre High School Soccer Academy – 5

Woodville High School – 0

Stand out performers from the match were two of our attacking weapons Marco (2 goals) and Jordan (2 goals) however a special congratulations to Noah in goals for saving a penalty and keeping a clean sheet. Other standout players were 2 of our very consistent defenders Cian at Centre Back and Liam at Left Back. However overall all players were exceptional and it was a fantastic team effort. We now enter the Bye round with 3 wins and 0 losses and on top of the ladder.

Goals galore as Le Fevre Soccer Academy beats Seaton High School

Port Pirates played host to the second game of Le Fevre High Schools Zone soccer season where we came up against Seaton High School. The team started very strongly and dominated the first half and we went in to the break with a 4 1 lead. The goals were again scored by the front three Jordan, George and Moein.

However unlike last week where we had an easy victory this week the opposition was a little harder and Seaton did have a few standout players although this being said we still managed a win with the final result being……

Le Fevre High School Soccer Academy – 8

Seaton High School – 5

The team has improved dramatically throughout the semester and there is no doubt that we can score goals in matches however our defence does need to improve to compete with the top sides and this is one area of the game we will work on in our Wednesday training sessions over the next few weeks. Overall it was a solid team performance however I must mention a few stand out players. Jordan at left wing was a constant danger throughout the game and scored an amazing free kick, Harrison in the centre of midfield showed his class with exceptional dribbling and passing and the likes of Cian and Liam at the back were some of our more solid defenders.

We now look forward to the next game and hopefully our unbeaten run continues.

LFHS Defeats Temple Christian College

The Western Adelaide Zone Soccer competition kicked off on Wednesday the 18th of May with the Le Fevre High School Soccer Academy venturing out to Adelaide High School to play Temple Christian College.

The game began with Le Fevre dominating the ball and creating chance after chance. We broke through in the first few minutes with Jordan scoring the first goal. After the first goal went in the boys really started to display their dominance and the flood gates opened.

Le Fevre went on to win the game 12 goals to 2. A great all round team effort by the 8/9 students. Stand out performers from the match were the front 3 Moein (2 goals) George (2 goals) and Jordan (5 goals) a special mention to Josh at left back for his 20 yard strike which certainly was goal of the day.

Next week we look forward to hosting Seaton High School at Port Pirates and hopefully we can stay unbeaten.
