Junior Girls Weekly Zone Netball – update

The Le Fevre girls netball squad hit the ground running with an outstanding victory in Round 1 of the Western Zone Sport competition this term. Our impressive list of players in years 8, 9 and 10 proved too strong for both of Temple Christian College’s teams, beating the Division 1 side 41-7 and the Division 2 side 26-0. Top goal scorers Sheridan and Maddy showcased their firepower as they both posted high numbers on the day. Young guns Jakirah, Tianney and Denise  stood up to the competition and excelled past their opponents.

In Round 2 which was also a Le Fevre home game, this time against Seaton High School – the team continued to dominate with their fast-paced style of play and indestructible team spirit. We had strong wins over both of Seaton’s teams, defeating their first team 30-11 and the second team 31-2 which demonstrates the growing confidence of the Le Fevre squad as they maintain a consistent effort throughout the term. Year 10 students Taylor, Tanay, Rachel and Janaye exhibited their vast experience in mentoring the team to comfortable victories.

In week 5 the Girls Netball Team will take on Oceanview College and Temple Christian College in knockout games which could see them progress to the next level and eventually be the state champions… Stay tuned and let’s go Le Fevre!!

Rugby League News

Well done to the Open Boys Rugby League Team who in term 1 finished second overall in the Southern Division Tier A Competition last term. The team, predominantly made up of year 10’s competed fantastically against older teams from Reynella East HS, Christies Beach HS, Adelaide HS and Murray Bridge HS.

Second place meant the boys had secured a place in the overall Tier A Championships earlier this week with a semi-final game against top of the Northern Division, Windsor Gardens Vocational College. Despite being down on the players, the boys played extremely well coming from behind after a slow start to lead for much of the game. Only a try in the dying seconds of the game denied them a chance of playing off in the grand final later in the day.

Congratulations to all the boys who represented the school throughout the competition and we look forward to seeing what this group can produce competing together for another couple of years.

Knockout Open Boys Football Result

On Tuesday, 10th May the mighty Le Fevre High School proved to be more than a challenge for Woodville High School in Open Boys Knockout Football at Ethleton Oval, the final score LFHS 24.11 defeating WHS 5.4. The match was played in trying conditions, not even wind and rain could hinder the performance of the likes of Mitch, Jack  and Trent  who dominated the midfield.

Le Fevre HS also congratulates both Tyson and Kym in making the South Australian U18 State Squad.

Both students proudly donned our black, white and teal jumper in Round One, providing excitement and displaying an elite level of skill for all to witness.
