ICT and Library

The Drewer Library is staffed by our Teacher-Librarian, Mr Barker and our Library Assistant, Roxanne.  The ICT Services Office is also located in the Drewer library to support students and staff with ICT technical matters, coordinated by our ICT Network Manager, Naresh.

We have a large, diverse collection including Fiction and Non-Fiction books, Graphic Novels, Picture Books, Short reads, Series Books, an Aboriginal Studies Collection and our Lexile Literacy Pro collection, with new items constantly being added to the collection.  Items are available for a two-week loan and can be extended up to twice. We have Periodical Journals and a Reference collection available for student use in the library.

Students from Years 7 to 12 are encouraged to participate in the Premier’s Reading Challenge. Library staff are here to support students through this challenge and can assist students with choosing reading material and other library or reference queries.

Students are able to borrow during Care Group, during their class rostered borrowing time and other lessons under the direction of their classroom teacher. There is no borrowing during lunch and students can return items at any time.

Opening Times:

The opening hours are from 8:30am to 2:30pm on a Tuesday and 8:30am to 4:00pm on all other weekdays.  The library is closed at Recess and open at Lunch. Students are able to read a book, play board games and use their IT devices during this time.

Our Homework Centre also operates in the library on a Wednesday and Thursday after school from 3.30pm – 4.00pm, staffed by our teachers.
