MARITIME HIGH SCHOOL
The Maritime High School of South Australia is hosted at Le Fevre High School and provides students across the Western Metropolitan Adelaide region with unique opportunities to explore careers and further study in the maritime and marine industries.
Established in 2011, the program continues to provide students with access to industry-connected learning, nationally recognised training and pathways into further education and employment.
Students have the opportunity to develop practical skills, experience the maritime industry firsthand and discover the diverse range of careers available across this exciting sector.
Certificate II in Maritime Operations
Students can undertake a Certificate II in Maritime Operations, delivered by the Australian Maritime and Fisheries Academy (AMFA) at Port Adelaide. This nationally recognised qualification provides practical experience and an introduction to the skills, knowledge and expectations of working in the maritime industry.
Australian Maritime College Pathways
Le Fevre High School works closely with the Australian Maritime College (AMC), Australia's national centre for maritime education and training. Students have opportunities to explore AMC pathways, including study and careers across engineering, logistics, seafaring and the broader maritime sector.
Each year, Le Fevre High School students have the opportunity to travel to Launceston, Tasmania, for an immersive experience at the Australian Maritime College.The annual excursion gives students the chance to experience the AMC campus firsthand, explore maritime facilities and discover the wide range of pathways available across engineering, seafaring, logistics and marine industries. It is an exciting opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world careers and experience where a maritime pathway could take them.
Students can also apply for opportunities to visit the AMC campus in Tasmania, providing a valuable opportunity to experience the facilities, meet industry and education professionals, and explore where a maritime pathway could take them.
