Inclusive Education
Le Fevre High School’s Inclusive Education Class (IEC) provides a contemporary, supportive and engaging learning environment designed to maximise student participation, connection and success.
Located within the school grounds, the Inclusive Education Centre supports students in Years 7–12 with diverse learning needs and additional learning requirements.
The program has capacity to support a range of students through individualised learning pathways that recognise each student’s strengths, interests and goals. Entry to the Inclusive Education Centre is through a placement process managed by the Department for Education’s regional office.
Our Inclusive Education program provides a supportive, engaging and personalised learning environment where every student is valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their individual goals.
The program is designed to meet the diverse learning needs of students with intellectual disabilities and additional learning needs across Years 7–12. Students are supported through a personalised approach that recognises individual strengths, interests, abilities and aspirations, while providing opportunities to develop independence, confidence and meaningful connections within the wider school community.
Entry to the Inclusive Education program is managed through a Department for Education placement process. Once a student has been offered a place, families work closely with staff to support a successful transition into the school environment. Individual learning plans, including documented adjustments and goals, provide valuable information to guide teaching, wellbeing support and future pathway planning.
Our dedicated Inclusive Education teachers and support staff work collaboratively to provide a highly personalised learning experience. Through strong relationships and case coordination, staff develop a deep understanding of each student’s learning profile, strengths and areas for growth. Students are supported to access a range of learning opportunities, facilities and programs across the school, based on their individual goals and aspirations.
We value strong partnerships with families and carers and recognise the importance of working together to support each student’s educational journey. Regular communication and opportunities for collaboration ensure students receive consistent support as they progress through secondary schooling and prepare for life beyond school.
